Tepees served as the early day homes of the American Indians. The tepees are constructed of canvas and eighteen Lodge Pole Pines, which are cut from the nearby mountains. Big Horn County serves as home to the Norhtern Cheyenne and Crow Indian Tribes. Crow Agency is known as the "Tepee Capital of the World”. Come see a native pow-wow, which is held during the third week of August, and visit our museum after you enjoy the dancing, parades, and other festivities the tribe has to offer. |
